‘My Everyday Heroes, My Inspiration!’ is a book written by 9 year-old Bhavina Farswani, studying at the Singapore American School. The debut child-author has created a colourful, non-fictional compilation of personal journeys of some of her Everyday Heroes with lots of fun facts, and quirky illustrations done by the artist Kanchan Mehendale.
During the COVID 19 lockdown, Bhavina virtually interviewed hard-working surgeons, doctors, teachers, dance and sports coaches who have been an inspiration to her. She questioned them about their motivations, hobbies, life lessons and their profession. They had much to share, and left her with a lot to explore.
“Hope you enjoy reading these inspiring stories and the many fun facts and lessons I’ve learnt while interviewing my everyday heroes!” – Bhavina
This book is intended to share her learnings and raise money for the underprivileged and financially challenged. 100% of the sale proceeds go towards Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital in Bihar, India.Bhavina chose this institution after hearing the plight of the girls in rural areas and wanted to support women empowerment.
Bhavina’s contributions in giving others a ‘gift of colourful vision’ and countless smiles makes her our ‘Everyday Hero’!
