Elliana Patel is 12 years-old and attends UWC East. She has always been interested in social justice issues, particularly around gender and racial inequality. Elliana is a pretty spectacular child for a few reasons but here are some of her accomplishments:
Ambassador For A Day
Last year, she won the Expat Living’s ’Ambassador for a Day’ contest where she was one of the girls chosen to spend a day with a female ambassador in Singapore and was featured by both, Expat Living and the U.S. Embassy, Singapore.
SlimeTime at 10!
When Elliana was just 10 years old – she launched her business “SlimeTime by Elliana” where she was a party entertainer making slime at children’s birthday parties. She observed keenly as to what the kids enjoyed and made efforts to improve her business and made her first earnings as well.
Elliana’s family strongly believes in giving back. “As a family activity, we volunteer together at Willing Hearts. We also try and build in a service component on our holidays. On our last vacation to Turkey, we worked with a local NGO delivering meals to Syrian refugees in Istanbul,” adds the enterprising tween.
Climb Every Mountain
Elliana thought of a unique way of adding adventure and staying fit during over circuit breaker. Her entire family committed to climb to the height of Mt Everest (8,848m) using their condo’s stairwell! Elliana ’summited’ under 30 days by climbing 28 floors 89 times! Stay at home certainly was dynamic for this family.
