Have you ever seen an annular solar eclipse, also known as the “Ring of Fire”?
It is set to appear this weekend, on Sunday June 21st, a special day that happens to be Father’s Day.
What is an annular solar eclipse?
? A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. There are four types of solar eclipses — total, partial, annular, and hybrid.
? An annular eclipse occurs when the moon is at the farthest distance from Earth (its apogee) forming a straight line with the Earth and the Sun making it appear smaller in the sky than usual. When aligned with the Sun, the glowing ring of sunlight around the Moon is known as the “Ring of Fire.”
? The Ring of Fire will not visible in Singapore, but it can be observed as a partial solar eclipse from 3:04pm to 4:54pm.

? You can also enjoy livestreams on YouTube channels such as “TimeandDate” and Slooh.
Why not watch it with your family and make it a memorable Father’s Day?
