Go-Away Garlic Breath!

Why does our breath stink after consuming garlic?
?Garlic has strong chemical compounds and comes from the allium family containing sulfurous compounds, which are also responsible for bad breath.
?Allyl Methyl Sulfide (AMS) metabolites slowly and remains in our body for quite  a while after consumption, causing that pungent odour that can  for hours going even upto two days!
?These sulfuous compounds are absorbed in our bloodstream and travels to other organs for excretion – like the lungs, kidneys and skin pores.
?Your taste buds may enjoy your ‘butter-garlic’ treat, but the chemistry going on inside is pretty complicated.

Combat this chemistry with the right remedies!
Milk

?Research suggests that drinking a glass of milk of a garlic flavoured meal could reduce the sulphur compounds causing the bad odour.
?The study in Journal of Food Sciences suggests that it is the water and fat in milk that deodorises the breath. (whole milk tends more effectively than fat-free milk.

Apples
?Raw apples pples have natural enzymes that break down the sulphides in the garlic, thus acting like a  natural ‘deodorant’ for the awful odour.
?An apple a day keeps the doctor and the bad breath away!

 Lemons
?Lemons have antibacterial properties that are responsible for killing bacteria causing the foul breath.
?Moreover, the citric acid in lemons neutralises the ‘odour’ enzymes produced by garlic.

GreenTea
?Green tea help with digestion and removing toxins from your body.
?it has potent antioxidants called polyphenols that help eliminate the foul smelling bacteria cause by garlic from your body.

Herbs
?Chewing on herbs like parsley or mint are traditional remedies for garlic breath.
?These herb have chemicals like chlorophyll and polyphenols that bind to sulfur compounds in garlic thereby masking the foul odour.

No you can enjoy your Garlic Bread without the worry of ‘Garlic-Breath’!
