Genre: A Netflix Original Documentary

Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brief Description:
? My Octopus Teacher is a documentary about a man befriending an octopus. It showcases the octopus’s life and how eventually, the octopus becomes less scared and more trusting of this human.
? It also shows how the octopus evades predators and how it catches pray.

My Favorite Part:
? When a shark attacked the octopus, she needed a place to hide. She first hid under seashells, however the shark was able to sniff her out. Later, when she is found, she cleverly throws herself on the shark’s back, which surprisingly works as the shark can’t shake her off!

What I Learnt:
? Octopuses are curious creatures. For instance, when she got over her scare of the human, she climbs on his hands and wonders ”what is this strange thing doing here?”
? They have a playful side which one can see with her interaction with the the human and her games with the fish.
? I also learnt that octopuses are intelligent and have tactics to evade sharks. By jetting, the octopus releases ink to blind the predator.
? Also, they can squeeze into extremely small cracks because their body structure is like jelly.

I Recommend This Because:
? It shows the connection between animal and human.
? It is intriguing how Mr. Foster was privy to the secrets of the underwater world. I loved the breathtaking videos of the marine life and the ways of their world.
? Additionally, it represents the circle of life, and how the octopus has to leave the world at some time, which was emotional for the man.
? Fortunately, she created many offspring – but what is most amazing is how the babies evolve and cope without a mom!
