If you visit any of Singapore’s nature reserved and spot a 11 year old boy with his camera – it’s probably nature enthusiast and budding photographer Ilan Chanani-Parikh (currently studying in Stamford American International School, Singapore).
With a keen interest in herpetology (study of reptiles and amphibians), birdwatching and wildlife, Ilan loves researching wild animals, particularly in India and Southeast Asia, and taking their photographs.
? Ilan has had a passion for animals since he was a toddler. The first word he wrote was “Lion”.
? His deep commitment to nature and photography has made him a well-known sight at the local nature reserves of Singapore, spending hours waiting for “the right shot”.
? His idea of a perfect day is searching for snakes late into the night with his friends at the Herpetological Society of Singapore (HSS – Instagram handle @herpsocsg).
? Ilan’s favorite vacations are in the wild. He supports World Wildlife Fund, Singapore and the Nature Society of Singapore.
Friends and family all over the world send this young wildlife trivia master photos of animals to identify and get interesting facts.
Ilan’s photos can be found on Instagram @ilanherpphotos.
