? An alligator named Saturn, who survived World War II in Berlin and is believed to have once belonged to the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, died at age 84 in Moscow Zoo a few days ago.
? Saturn was sent to Berlin Zoo in 1936 soon after birth in the United States. He escaped when the zoo was bombed during the Battle of Berlin in November, 1943.
? Saturn somehow survived for three years on his own in the war-ravaged city until British soldiers discovered him in 1946 and handed him to the Soviet Union.
? As per reports, Saturn will now be stuffed and exhibited at The State Darwin Museum, which is a natural history museum in Moscow named after Charles Darwin.
? Alligators can grow up to 15 feet long and can weigh over 450kg (1,000 lbs).
? They have a powerful bite but the muscles that open the jaw are relatively weak.
? An adult human could hold the jaws of an alligator shut with their bare hands.
