Whilst youngsters were busy with online games and zoom classes, 12 year old Ria Pabby, a student of UWCSEA Dover decided to put her mind into doing something useful during lockdown in Singapore – learning the art to bake cheesecakes and cookies!
A self-taught baker, Ria’s interest in baking piqued about a year ago. She diligently watched various videos of recipes on YouTube and browsed through several other recipes on the internet and made her notes.
Ria added her own touches and recently came up with her very own version of ‘Cheesecakes and Cookies by Ria’.
The Birth Of An Idea..
“I started making cheesecakes and cookies just for fun as my father really enjoys them. He shared them with some of his friends and they really liked them too. Then I got the idea that this fun activity could actually work for a good cause. I decided that the money I earn from selling my desserts could be donated to a charity,” says the talented baker.
A Sweet Twist…
“I chose to donate half of my proceeds the CCF (Children’s Cancer Foundation). I am extremely passionate about this cause, as I think that everyone deserves to have equally happy lives and CCF uses the money to help children with cancer by enhancing their medical, emotional and social wellbeing.”
“Throughout this process, I had to cost products, make flyers and most importantly balance homework whilst experimenting how to get that perfect flavor. I have really enjoyed this process and am truly happy to see that my small actions can make a difference.”
Kudos to you Ria. We are sure your small action and big heart will make difference in the lives of these children.
