The majestic Matterhorn mountain in Zermatt, Switzerland is being lit up nightly with flags of various countries to show their solidarity giving the message of ‘hope & strength’ against the global Coronavirus Pandemic.
The Matterhorn towers at a height of nearly 15,000 feet & is one of the most famous peaks of the Alps. The mountain straddles the borders of Switzerland &Italy & this iconic destination is part of the bucket list for most mountain climbers.
The Matterhorn was said to have been formed millions of years ago when two landmasses crashed into each other giving it a pyramid-like shape.
