?This book is a story about a 12 year old boy whose father wants him to follow in his footsteps and become a mathematics genius like him, but Mike suffers from a math learning disability.
?When Mike is sent to a small town in Pennsylvania to work on an engineering project with distant relatives, he feels it could be his chance to prove himself.
?However, to Mike’s surprise, the project has nothing to do with Math. Instead, he learns important life lessons from his kind old aunt and the homeless guy, as he joins them in the town project to get an orphan adopted from Romania.
?He ends up discovering himself, the true meaning of life and ‘The Absolute Value Of Mike’.
My Favorite Part:
✈️ This book is a treat to read with so many nice characters. My most favourite part however, is when Mike comes off the plane, he is greeted by his grand Aunt and is taken into an old car that actually has a name.
? The description of the car as a person is a memorable part of the story for me.
What I Learnt:
?I learnt about the absolute value of life. Which is that everything in life can not be achieved by a high IQ.
?Sometimes in life you need EQ, more than IQ to shine and solve life’s problems.
?Even though Mike had a learning disability and was not a mathematician like his genius dad, he got to be a town leader at only 12, bringing everyone together for a great cause.
Why do you recommend this book?
?I highly recommend the book as the author takes us on an unexpected journey of life with different array of characters.
?Everything comes together in this book in a meaningful way.
?This book is a must read to understand the real meaning of life.
?Its a funny, sentimental and inspiring book to view the world and the people around you with a different set of lens.
